Circle Trip - June 30, 2020 - Day Four
Day Four: Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Pictured Rocks is a national treasure. We spent the whole day along the lakeshore.

At Sand Point, we came across the local hospital - about the size of a McDonalds.
We also hiked down to Miner's Falls:

Food Ninja
We stopped into the town of Grand Marais. We found an open restaurant. But it was carryout only, and there was a long line for tables. Riding Harleys is serious business, and we could not wait around all day. We had riding to do.
Buttercup found us a sandwich shop, which was pretty good.
Tahquamenon Falls State Park
There are a lot of water falls in the area, but the best is Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

The brown color is from "organic" material in the water.
The Circle Tour
Some have asked why this trip is called the Circle Tour.
It is modeled after the Circle driving tours:
There is a Circle Tour for Lake Michigan and Lake Superior.
Taps:
This part of the world is a recreational paradise. There are hunting reserves, there are a whole lot of fishing, bicycle paths everywhere, kayaks, etc. The paths were the most pronounced as they are everywhere.

The paths are for biking in the summer, and snowmobiling and ATVs in the winter. They post snowmobile speed limits on the roads.
We traveled another 310 miles today. We are back to Wisconsin tomorrow, following the Lake Superior shore line along the way.

Note how Buttercup and Magellan are all covered up. Magellan carries hand sanitizer on his belt, they carry their masks with them at all times, and tonight I heard Magellan complain that people who do not social distance fuel the pandemic, and he did not want to eat at a particular place because it is too congested. How about that.
Before we could get on the road this morning, Buttercup had to feed us. We had very few options, and we ended up at a bagel shop.
The bagels weren't bad, and the coffee wasn't either - as we sat outside eating and drinking by the dumpster.

Pictured Rocks
To see the Pictured Rocks, you really need to take a boat. The options range from kayaks to pontoon boats to boat tours on large vessels. Since our Harleys do not do well in the water, attached are some photos by the National Park Service taken from the water.

Sand Point
We first encountered the Pictured Rocks at Sand Point, and learned something of the geology.
The beaches were beautiful, but we're told the water is cold.

Miner's Cabin and Miner's Falls
The pic below is a photo we took of Miner's Cabin. It is the white protrusion on the left.
